BATTERY KIT SELECTION GUIDE

How to choose a LiFePO4 battery enclosure kit

Start with the cells, installation format, assembled voltage and capacity, then confirm whether the package includes only the enclosure or also the BMS and LCD.

Confirm that the product is an enclosure kit, not a complete battery

JKESS battery enclosure kits provide the metal enclosure and the assembly hardware listed for the selected package. Battery cells, inverter, charger, external breaker, external cables, installation, and commissioning are not included unless a quotation explicitly says otherwise.

Before ordering

Confirm the complete packing list and do not assume that the displayed assembled capacity means battery cells are included.

Match the enclosure to the exact cell dimensions

Nominal amp-hour capacity alone is not enough. Cells with similar capacity can have different width, depth, height, terminal position, and compression requirements.

  • Cell width, depth, and height
  • Terminal location and thread type
  • Required compression allowance
  • Busbar and insulation clearance
  • Cell quantity and series layout
  • Cable bend radius and service access

Decide between enclosure-only and BMS plus LCD packages

The enclosure-only package is suitable when the buyer already has compatible protection and monitoring hardware. The enclosure plus LCD and BMS package reduces component sourcing, but the exact BMS rating, active balancing, communication protocol, cable, and inverter compatibility must still be confirmed.

For communication requirements, review the CAN vs RS485 guide. A matching interface name does not guarantee that the inverter and BMS use the same protocol.

Check assembled capacity claims correctly

Capacity values such as 15kWh or 16kWh describe the intended assembled configuration after compatible cells are installed. The actual usable energy depends on cell capacity, voltage limits, depth of discharge, temperature, cell condition, BMS settings, and inverter operation.

Verify the intended series count, nominal voltage, cell capacity, and required current before selecting a BMS or inverter.

Review dimensions, weight, ventilation, and service access

The empty caster enclosure is listed at approximately 28kg and 835 × 400 × 280mm. The empty 6U enclosure is listed at approximately 25kg and 715 × 472 × 270mm. Final assembled weight depends heavily on the installed cells and hardware.

Allow room for lifting, rack loading, cable routing, airflow, fuse or breaker access, terminal protection, and future maintenance.

Understand the shipping rule before checkout

Selected battery kits receive free shipping to EU destinations. The website displays a USD 150 kit shipping rate for the United States, Southeast Asia, selected Middle East destinations, Japan, and South Korea. Other destinations require a written shipping quotation.

Always review the destination and selected configuration before payment because enclosure size and weight differ from standard JKBMS boards and accessories.

Final enclosure-kit checklist

  • Exact cell dimensions and terminal position
  • Cell chemistry and series count
  • Target nominal voltage and capacity
  • Caster or 19-inch rack installation
  • Enclosure-only or BMS plus LCD package
  • Continuous and peak current requirements
  • CAN, RS485, display, and inverter protocol
  • Available installation and service space
  • Destination and shipping rule
  • Qualified assembly and commissioning plan
